Causes of Urinary Incontinence

Adult Diapers Singapore
  • Stress Incontinence – Caused by abdominal pressure from activities like coughing, sneezing, laughing or exercising
  • Urge Incontinence – A sudden urge to urinate due to an “overactive bladder”
  • Overflow Incontinence – When the bladder is unable to empty completely during urination. An overfull bladder results in a need to urinate frequently, sometimes accompanied by urine leakage

Anti Odour Diapers

Incontinence is not only caused by the loss of bladder and urethra control, but also the weakening of physical condition:

  • Bladder atrophy – Reduced urine capacity
  • Decreased kidney function – Causing a need to urinate several times at night
  • Decreased muscle strength of the bladder, urethra or sphincter – Causing incontinenc
  • Prostate hypertrophy (male) – Causing incontinence and difficulty urinating
  • Weakening of Pelvic floor muscle (female) – inability to control urine flow
  • Chronic diseases (cerebrovascular disease, heart disease, diabetes, neuralgia, osteoporosis, etc.)
  • Drugs (diuretics, hypotensive agents, etc.)

Exercises to ease incontinence

Breathable Diapers

Kegel exercises strengthen the pelvic floor muscles which help control incontinence

  • Find the right muscles – To identify, stop urination midstream by tightening the muscles below the bladder that help control urination. For Females, tighten the muscle around the virginal and anus areas. For males, tighten the muscle around the anus area. Tightening the right muscles stops the flow.
  • Regular practice (make sure bladder is emptied) – Contract and hold for 5 seconds, then relax for 5 seconds. Aim for sets of 10 at least 3 times a day.
